COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's tennis team was handed a 9-0 sweep by visiting Washington College in its home finale on Wednesday afternoon.

The Shorewomen improved to 10-4 and 5-2 in Centennial Conference play, while the Bears dropped to 8-8 overall and 2-6 in league competition.

Washington College lost only five games in doubles and 13 in singles. Senior Ariel Danziger put up the best fight for Ursinus, challenging Krista Filiopoulos to a 6-4, 6-2 decision at number three singles.

Seniors Aileen BeVard and Ashley Nguyen won three games at number one doubles for the Bears.

The women's tennis team returns to the courts tomorrow for a non-conference road trip to Moravian.
