Three School Records Fall at Mini-Dip Invitational for Men's Track & Field

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Indoor Track & Field Team saw three school records and one Centennial Conference record fall at the Little Dip Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Friday night.

Senior Tyler Reilly broke both a school and a Centennial Conference record in the 300-meter dash. Reilly's time of 35.61 shattered the previous Ursinus Men's Indoor record of 36.09 set by Austin Bittenbender in 2019, and the Centennial Conference record of 35.70 that was set by Lipton Thompson of Franklin & Marshall in 2010. He finished second overall in the event to Lebanon Valley's Owen Buhr.

Freshman Brody Myers continued his impressive first indoor season by shattering his own school record in the pole vault with a mark of 15-3 ft. Myers demolished his previous school record of 14.675 ft. set back in December during the Bow Tie Invitational. The reigning Centennial Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week is now 3-for-3 for first place finishes in the pole vault events he has competed in this season.

Senior Nick Galbraith took back the school record mark in the weight throw once again behind a throw of 52.1 ft and placed first overall. Galbraith had lost his previous school record to teammate Isaiah Battle in the Bow Tie Invitational back in December before winning the event today by six feet. He also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 44-5.50 ft.

Senior Zach Crebbin also took home a first-place finish at the invitational in the high jump after posting a mark of 6-4.75 feet. Crebbin's jump is currently tied for the third best for the event in the Centennial Conference this season. He concluded his night with a fifth-place finish in the long jump on a mark of 20-8.5 ft. Freshman Trey Rolle followed Crebbin in the high jump with a fifth-place finish on a mark of 5-8.75 ft. before placing 10th in the long jump at 5.89 meters. Junior Daniel Tabor rounded out the Bears in the jumps by finishing 3rd in the triple jump on a personal best mark of 43-4.5 ft.

Junior Tim Holzapfel finished fifth in the weight throw on a mark of 44-2.75 feet and Battle recorded a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 43-8 feet to highlight the throwing events for the Bears.

Junior Payton Stanziani spearheaded the track events for Ursinus on Friday with a first-place finish in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:07.82. Senior Octavious Carter posted a pair of second place finishes in the sprints with a times of 7.08 in the 60-meter dash and 23.58 in the 200-meter dash. Sophomore Collin Ney also recorded a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash on a time of 53.01 and was followed by teammates Devon Greaves in fifth (54.11) and Tyler Wilson in sixth (54.29). Tabor posted a fourth-place finish in the 300-meter dash with a time of 36.93.

Ursinus added one last first place finish in the event in the 4x400 relay where the team of Reilly, Tabor, Ney, and Stanziani set a new season best time of 3:28.11.

The Bears will return to action in the Division III Invitational at the Armory in New York City on Friday, February 4th.
