LEXINGTON, Va. – The Ursinus Indoor Men's Track & Field team wrapped up its two-day competition at the VMI Winter Classic on Saturday by setting two new school records and one Centennial Conference record in the process.
The 4x400 relay team of senior Tyler Reilly, junior Daniel Tabor, sophomore Collin Ney, and junior Payton Stanziani registered a time of 3:19.36 to set both a new school record and Centennial Conference record. The school record was previously set in 2016 on a time of 3:20.91 while the Centennial mark was set in 1996 by Haverford with a time of 3:19.99. Reilly was not done breaking records on the day as he topped the Ursinus 200-meter dash record with a time of 22.44, topping the previous mark of 22.45 set by former Bear Brandon Evans in 2012. Reilly has now set two indoor school records this season after setting the 300-meter dash record in Lancaster two weeks ago.
Ney (23.32), freshman Tyler Wilson (23.43), and senior Tyree Williams-Jackson (23.49) all posted career-bests in the 200 meters as well.
Junior Daniel Maloney capped off a strong weekend in the 60-meter hurdles with a time 8.58 and finished sixth overall, but first among Division III runners. Stanziani led four Bears in the 800-meter dash with a time of 1:59.75 which was just .1 off matching his previous career-high. Freshman Christian Rosado and Paul Faggioli each posted a personal-best times in the event with Rosado clocking in at 2:00.03 and Faggioli at 2:00.89.
Sophomore Tucker McGrath posted a personal best time of 4:30.17 in the mile and senior Jesse Wun recorded a personal best time as well of 9:02.69 in the 3000-meter run.
In the field, Pat Patterson-Zuber made a big impression in the shot put by leading four Bears with a career-best of 44-1.25 ft. and finished third among Division III throwers (16th overall). Freshman Brody Myers continued his steady season by placing third overall in the pole vault with a mark of 14-9 ft. and senior Zach Crebbin finished fourth overall and first among Division III competitors with a mark of 6-3.75 ft. in the high jump. Freshman Trey Rolle recorded a new personal-best in the long jump with a mark of 20-6.25 ft.
The Bears return to action on Saturday, February 19th at the Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford at 10:30 a.m.
