STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team began its 2023-24 indoor season at the Fasttrack National Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon that featured schools from all three NCAA Divisions.
Senior
Rainah Dunham made a statement in the Bears opening meet by easily topping the program indoor triple jump record with her mark of 11.72 meters. She won the event with that jump and broke the Bears 20-year old school record of 10.76 meters that was set by Amber Howard. It was the first indoor action for Dunham in her Bears career, and she beat 2nd place by .47 meters. Dunham followed that with a second place finish in the long jump with her mark of 5.40 meters that topped all Division III athletes in that event.
In throws, senior
Jacqueline Allen highlighted by finishing fourth in the shot put on her mark of 11.22 before placing seventh in the weight throw behind a tally of 12.31 meters. Sophomore
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman placed third in the pole vault on her mark of 2.76 meters.
Junior
Meghan Carroll finished seventh in the mile after crossing the line at 2:45.45 while sophomore
Mia Sideris and senior
Samantha Grubb posted solid finishes in the 3,000 meters. Sideris placed fifth with a time of 11:07.97 and Grubb finished with her time of 11:11.51.
Ursinus returns to action on Friday, December 8th as they will host the annual Bow Tie Invitational starting at 4:00 p.m.
