COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team hosted its annual Bow Tie Invitational at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on Friday night.
The Bears swept the top spots in the two throwing events in the event to highlight the day. Junior
Tom Wood won the shot put behind a throw of 14.29 meters and led a 1-2 finish with senior
Parker Howell. It was the second straight event that Wood won the shot put in and Howell set a personal best with a throw of 13.62 meters. Junior
Chase Shaneman won the weight throw on a personal best of 15.17 meters while Wood finished just behind in third on a career best throw of 14 meters. Sophomores
Deane Leader and Sean Barerra each recorded personal bests as well in the weight throw on marks of 11.85 and 11.31 meters, respectively. Leader finished seventh and Barrera came in ninth.
Senior
Devon Greaves earned a runner-up finish in the 60 meter hurdles after recording a personal best time of 8.81 meters. First-year
Devon Bock finished sixth after crossing the line at 9.62.
Junior
Ken Komatsu finished third in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 4.10 meters while junior
Ethan Chambers plus sophomore
Sean Bowers tied for seventh at 3.05 meters. Sophomore
David Piotrowski and first-year
Jaxon Geddio tied for third in the high jump after each posting a mark of 1.78 meters.
In distance, first-year
Nav Manick earned a second place finish after recording a time of 10:04.49 which was the fastest among Division III runners.
The Bears have a month off before returning to action on Saturday, January 20th by hosting the Collegeville Classic at 10:30 a.m.
