COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team hosted its annual Bow Tie Invitational at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on Saturday to complete a split squad weekend.
The Bears saw four athletes win their respective events at the meet as they continued their opening weekend of the indoor season.
Sophomore
Kyren Young won the 60 meter dash on his time of 7.15 to lead a trio of Bears in the race. Senior
Eddie Weick finished third with a time of 7.20 and first-year
Aidan Heppard was fifth with his time of 7.27.
Senior
Cole Jackson claimed the high jump with his mark of 1.76 meters while junior
Logan Downs finished third after clearing the bar at 1.65 meters. Senior
Sean Bowers claimed the pole vault for the Bears with his career best mark of 4.15 meters. Junior
Devon Bock was third at 2.95 meters while Downs was in fourth at a career best mark of 2.80 meters. Sophomore
Noah Sanders claimed the fourth win of the day for the Bears in the weight throw with his mark of 16.90 meters and led a 1-2-3 Bears finish. Junior
Carter Kensil was second on a mark of 12.54 meters and sophomore
Nick Boyle was third at 12.14 meters.
First-year
Bryson Sacher impressed in the sprints by leading the Bears in both the 60 meter hurdles and 200 meter dash. He placed third in the 60 meter dash at 9.12 and second in the 400 meter dash at 53.54. Weick was fifth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 7.20 and senior
Ethan Staurowsky was sixth at 10.22. First-year
Will Traska finished sixth in the 400 meters on a time of 54.71 and sophomore
Aaron Foy was eighth at 55.64. Heppard led Ursinus with a fifth place finish in the 200 meters on a time of 23.58 and classmate
Barry Harris finished eighth at 24.15.
First-year
Dom Cucarese finished sixth in the 800 meters on a time of 2:13.81 and sophomore
Aidan Furtek was sixth in the mile at a 4:39.89.
First-year
Isaac Lee led the Bears in the long jump by placing third at 6.29 meters and Bock placed sixth at 5.40 meters while Downs was seventh at 5.11 meters. Kensil led five Bears in the shot put by finishing second with his throw of 13.17 meters. Sanders placed third at 12.18 meters, Boyle finished fourth with a personal best throw of 11.42 meters, Downs was ninth at 9.48 meters, and Bock was 10
th at 8.74 meters.
The 4x400 relay team of Young, Harris, Traska, and Sacher finished second with a time of 3:40.62.
The Bears have a month off before returning to action on Sunday, January 18th by hosting the Collegeville Classic at 10:00 a.m.
