NEW ORLEANS – The Ursinus College men's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) while recent graduate

Noah Sanders received All-Academic Athlete recognition, the organization announced on Monday.
To earn All-Academic Team status, the cumulative grade-point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least 3.1. The Bears earned a 3.16 GPA, marking the eighth consecutive season of All-Academic Team laurels with the first coming for
Derek Nelson as the head coach.

Jason Peters were all named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring.
Tobin made the All-Academic Athlete roster for the third time in his career while Sanders made his first which honors student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and rank among the top-50 individuals or top-35 relay units in the nation.
Tobin, a biochemistry and molecular biology graduate, wrapped up a decorated Ursinus career with a strong outdoor season that saw him reset his own school record in the 200 meters on a time of 21.26 at the Widener Last Chance Meet. Tobin won the 200 meters at the AARTFC Championships in a thriller and earned USTFCCCA All-Metro Region for the event along with his 4x100 relay team. Tobin won a pair of silver medals, including one in the 200, at the Centennial Championships. He also added his third straight CSC Academic All-District nod and second PhillySIDA Academic All-Area honor.
Sanders, a biochemistry and molecular biology major, had a breakout sophomore campaign that was highlighted by him blitzing both the school and Centennial Conference Weight Throw record on his mark of 18.65 meters at the Centennial Indoor Championship meet. He topped his own record in four straight meets and claimed the Centennial Weight Throw title. He followed that with a silver medal in the Hammer Throw plus bronze in the discus during outdoor season while earning All-Metro Region honors in both seasons.
