LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus Men's Track & Field sophomore
Mitchell Davis was named the Centennial Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the Conference on Tuesday morning.
Davis picked up right where he left off last year by winning the pole vault with an Ursinus school record mark and the second-best mark in Centennial history on Friday at the Fasttrack Season Opener. Davis repeated his pole vault title in the meet from a year ago by topping his indoor school record mark at 5.01 meters. It was the first time in his career Davis topped five meters between the indoor and outdoor seasons. His mark is the best in Division III following the opening weekend of action.
Davis had a breakout first-year campaign in 2024-25 by sweeping the Centennial Conference Pole Vault titles during the indoor and outdoor seasons and qualified for both NCAA Track & Field Championship events. Davis earned Second Team All-American honors at the Outdoor Championship meet. The top pole vault athlete in the Metro Region for 2025, Davis blitzed both Ursinus school pole vault records and was named the Centennial Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the Year.
This is the fourth time in his career that Davis has earned a weekly accolade from the Centennial Conference and all four have come in the indoor season.
The Bears have a month off before returning to action on Sunday, January 18
th as they will host the Collegeville Classic starting at 10:00 a.m.
