COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team competed at its annual Bow Tie Invitational at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on Friday night.
The Bears hosted schools from all three levels of the NCAA in the meet.
Senior
Jacqueline Allen led the Bears in both throwing events as she finished fourth in the weight throw and second among Division III athletes with a throw of 12.19 meters. Allen followed with a fifth in the shot put after recording a throw of 11.02 meters. First-year
Libby Zalar finished seventh in the shot put after posting a mark of 10.42 meters while classmate
Randi Wood placed ninth on her throw of 9.73 meters. First-year
Hannah Quinn finished eighth in the weight throw behind her mark of 10.13 meters.
Sophomore
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman recorded a personal best mark in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 3.05 meters to place fourth overall and topped all Division III athletes in the event. Bauroth-Sherman also finished ninth in the prelims of the 60 meter hurdles on her time of 10.76. First-year
Sam Wechsler earned a top-10 finish in the long jump after leading the Bears with a mark of 5.12 meters to finish ninth.
In distance, junior
Candace Hudson posted a personal best time of 20:36.58 to round out the top 10 in the 5,000 meters.
Senior
Rainah Dunham led five Bears in the 200 meters with a time of 27.51 to finish 11th overall and second among Division III runners. Wechsler finished 15th overall and fifth among Division III runners with her time of 27.66.
Ursinus has a month off before returning to action on Saturday, January 20th by hosting the Collegeville Classic at 10:30 a.m.
