CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team began their final push to qualify more athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Championship Meet at the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday.
The 4x400 relay team of junior
Collin Ney, sophomore
Aiden Tobin, senior
Daniel Tabor, and senior
Payton Stanziani highlighted the day by winning the event with a time of 3:14.19. The time was the fastest by a 4x400 Ursinus relay team this year and currently the 14th-fastest time in all of NCAA Division III this season. The time was also less than a second off the school record set last season.
Senior
Isaiah Battle threw in three events on the day. He registered a throw of 50.63 meters to finish eighth overall in the hammer before finishing 7th on his shot put throw of 13.85 meters. He capped his day by recording a throw of 43.73 meters in the discus and finished seventh overall. Senior
Tim Holzapfel posted a mark of 49.59 meters in the hammer to finish 10th while sophomore
Tom Wood and senior
Pat Patterson-Zuber registered throws of 13.63 meters and 13.55 meters, respectively.
Junior
Devon Greaves posted a personal best time of 50.42 in the 400 meter dash and sophomore
Mason Jolivette tallied a time of 57.57 in the 400 meter dash.
Sophomore
Ken Komatsu finished seventh in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 4.20 meters.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, May 17th as they will begin the two-day AARTFC Regional Championship Meet at Susquehanna University at 12:00 p.m.
