ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior
Isabelle Deal registered her third career All-American in the javelin on Thursday afternoon, finishing in sixth place at the NCAA Track & Field outdoor championships held on the campus of St. John Fisher College.
Deal finished sixth in the javelin at the national meet for the second-straight season after recording a throw of 42.61 meters, which was her longest throw in her three career appearances at the NCAA Outdoor Championship meet.
Deal, the first Ursinus women's track & field athlete in program history, adds to her lore as the only three-time All-American in team history. She will wrap up her Ursinus career as a two-time Centennial Champion in the javelin (three career medals), five-time All-Metro Region honoree in the outdoor season, and school record holder for the javelin and indoor shot put.
Deal was one of two All-Americans from the Centennial Conference for the javelin for the second-straight season as well; Gettysburg's Holly Ferrara placed fifth. They are two of nine javelin All-Americans in conference history.
