FAIRFAX, Va. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team turned in a strong showing against schools from all three NCAA Divisions this weekend at the two-day Patriot Games hosted by George Mason.
Three school records fell on the men's side on Saturday to highlight the Bears at the meet. Senior
Payton Stanziani was the first to take down a record as he posted a 1:06.23 in the 500 meters which topped the previous time of 1:06.75 set by Andrew Mackin in 2015. Stanziani finished fourth overall in the race and was second among Division III runners. Sophomore
Aiden Tobin followed by not only setting his one month old school record but the Centennial Conference record as well for the 200 meters behind a time of 22.07. He bested the time of 22.15 that was the previous Centennial record set by Evan Friend of Franklin & Marshall in 2016. Tobin now sits first in the Centennial and second in the Metro Region with his time set today. Sophomore
Liam Johnston capped the trio by taking down a 40-year old school record in the 3,000 meters on his time of 8:42.90. He finished eighth overall in the race and second among Division III runners while topping the previous school record time of 8:44.40 set in 1984 by Mike Griffin.

Daniel Tabor, Tobin, senior
Collin Ney, and Stanziani earned a decisive first place finish by posting a time of 3:19.39 that was nearly two full seconds faster than George Mason's relay team. The squad's time is the top in the Centennial Conference by five seconds, second in the metro region, and third in all of Division III.
In sprints, Tabor finished third behind Tobin in the 200 meters with his time of 22.51. Ney finished second overall and was the top D3 runner in the 400 meters on his time of 50.99 and junior
Devon Greaves placed fourth after crossing the line at 51.39. Junior
Mason Jolivette earned a top-10 by finishing ninth in the 400 on his time of 52.22. First-year
Zorion Ferreira and sophomore
Patrick Ryan earned spots in the 60-meter hurdle finals and finished seventh and eighth on times of 8.99 and 9.06, respectively.
Junior
David Kenny impressed with a second place finish and was the top D3 runner in the 800 meters after crossing the line at 1:57.42. Classmate
Paul Faggioli finished eighth and was the second highest finishing D3 runner to Kenny on his time of 1:59.51.
Sophomore
James Sims III continued his strong high jump stretch by tying for second on his mark of 1.85 meters. Classmate
Markel Roberts-Jackson placed ninth in the event after clearing the bar at 1.75 meters.
Junior
Ethan Chambers competed in the heptathlon this weekend and finished eighth overall after amassing 3,606 points
The Bears return to action on Saturday February 3rd as they will host the annual Frank Colden Invitational, their last home indoor meet of the season, starting at 8:45 a.m.
