STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team opened its 2024-25 season at the Fasttrack National Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon that featured schools from all three NCAA Divisions.
First-year
Mitchell Davis highlighted the meet in his collegiate debut won the pole vault at 4.71 meters. His mark was .30 meters ahead of second place and just .01 off the school record set by Brody Myers back during the 2021-22 season.
In sprints, junior
Aiden Tobin led the Bears and all Division III runners in the 200 meter dash while placing fourth overall on a time of 22.10. He also recorded a time of 7.05 in the 60 meter dash that led all Ursinus runners and was fourth against Division III runners. Senior
Mason Jolivette finished the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.22 before posting a time of 22.90 in the 200 meter dash. First-year
Kyren Young was third among the Ursinus runners in both the 60 and 200 meter dash with times of 7.28 and 23.80, respectively. Senior
Devon Greaves recorded a top-10 finish in the 400 meter dash after recording a time of 51.20 that tied for ninth overall. Greaves also led a pair of Bears in the 60-meter hurdles with his time of 9.12 and first-year
Kyle Cummings was two spots behind on a time of 9.20. First-year
Jason Peters posted a time of 52.90 in his collegiate debut that placed him inside the top-30.
Senior
David Kenny impressed in the 800 meters by finishing fourth overall and was the top Division III runner on his time of 1:58.30. Junior
Liam Johnston was the top Division III runner in the 3,000 meters and placed sixth overall with his time of 8:51.30 and senior
Will Gillette finished 13th overall in the 5,000 meters on his time of 16:17.90. Senior
Jack Fisher competed in the 800 as well and recorded a time of 2:04.50. Seniors
Paul Faggioli and
Christian Rosado competed in the mile and Faggioli led the pair with his time of 4:34.40 that was 12th overall and fifth among Division III Runners while Rosado was 15th and sixth among Division III runners at a 4:35.80.
Junior
James Sims III was the lone jumper in the meet for Ursinus and finished seventh behind clearing the bar at a career best 1.94 meters.
In throws, senior
Tom Wood placed second in the shot put and was the top Division III thrower at 15.48 meters and sophomore
Carter Kensil recorded a throw of 12.50 meters that placed him 13th overall. Senior
Chase Shaneman tallied a third place finish in the weight throw behind his mark of 15.02 meters and first-year
Noah Sanders posted a 12.37 meter throw that placed 16th overall.
The Bears return to action on tomorrow, December 7th as they will host the annual Bow Tie Invitational starting at 10:00 a.m.
