NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team had a strong first day that featured multiple school records falling at the 2026 AARTFC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at the New York Armory.
After one day, the Bears sit third overall in the team standings with 20 points.
Two indoor school records fell on Friday for the Ursinus Men's Track & Field team, highlighted by the Distance Medley Relay team of senior
Liam Johnston, juniors
Dylan Baer,
Troy Hedrick, and first-year
Ramon Martinez winning the race on a school record time of 10:15.57. The time bested the previous record of 10:27.3 in 1987 and they bested RIT by .3 in a thrilling finish.
First-year
Noah Tapler set the other record by posting a time of 6.91 in the 60-meter prelims that locked him into the finals tomorrow. His time just topped
Aiden Tobin's old mark of 6.94 set two years ago.
Sophomore
Mitchell Davis claimed the pole vault title after clearing the bar at 4.98 meters while junior
Carter Kensil recorded a throw of 13.83 meters in the shot put. Sophomore
Andy Zigbuo added a mark of 6.18 meters on the long jump.
The Bears return to action on day two tomorrow, March 7th with the second day of the AARTFC Championships starting back up at 10:00 a.m.
