CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team saw its first action of the Outdoor season this weekend at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener.
Competing against schools from all three NCAA Divisions, the Bears showed well in the two-day meet.
Senior
Sean Bowers claimed the pole vault with a personal best mark of 4.40 meters, defeating three Division II athletes in the process. Sophomore
Noah Sanders paced the Bears in a pair of throwing events by recording a personal best of 53.10 meters in the hammer throw, which was just less than two meters off the school record to finish ninth overall. Sanders also set a personal best in the discus on a throw of 41.45 meters that placed him eighth overall. Junior
Carter Kensil set a personal best in the hammer throw as well at 46.72 meters.

Dylan Baer led a trio of Bears in the 400-meter hurdles by finishing 13th on a personal best time of 57.94. First-year
Bryson Sacher finished right behind on a time of 58.52 and senior
Patrick Ryan posted a 59.62.
First-year
Ramon Martinez led a host of Bears in the 1,500 meters on a time of 4:09.47 and junior
Troy Hedrick led a group of Bears in the 800 meters on his time of 2:01.02.
The Bears return to action on Friday, April 3rd as they will open the two-day Ursinus Track & Field Festival starting at 2:00 p.m. with the Hammer Throw.
