LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team turned in a valiant effort to conclude the 2024 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday. The Bears added five more gold medals to their tally on day two.
Ursinus once again set a new indoor program benchmark for team points with 182.5 and were edged by five points for the team title by Johns Hopkins. The tight five-point margin of victory tied the previous Centennial Conference Indoor Championship record for closest finish since the Blue Jays edged Haverford in 2013, 168-163. It was the Bears fourth-straight runner up finish and seventh runner-up finish overall in the Championship meet. Ursinus was a clear 100.5 points over third place Haverford who scored 82 points and Muhlenberg in fourth with 70 points. The Bears had a furious rally on day two and had a battle to remember with Johns Hopkins Ursinus took home nine medals on Sunday with four of them being gold. For the weekend, the Bears earned 16 medals as a team behind seven golds, four silvers, and five bronze.
A major reason for the Bears rally on day two was a complete domination in sprints that saw Ursinus go 1-2-3 in both the 200 and 400 meter dash. Sophomore
