COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Indoor Track & Field team performed well once again as they hosted the annual Frank Colden Invitational, their final home meet of the indoor season, at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on Saturday.
Senior
Tucker McGrath paced the 800 meters in his first time racing in that event this season by posting a winning time of 1:57.68. First-year
Troy Hedrick finished sixth in the 800 with his time of 2:01.80 while junior
Jack Fisher followed in seventh with his time of 2:02.73.
Senior
Payton Stanziani won the 400 meters after crossing the line with a 51.10. Stanziani also raced in the 200 meters and finished sixth while junior
Mason Jolivette led the Bears in the event with a fourth place finish on a time of 23.22. A pair of first-years in
Devon Bock and
Jayden McKeen earned top-five finishes in the 60-meter hurdles. Bock led the duo with a third place finish with his time of 9.23 and McKeen finished fifth after crossing the line at 9.28.
In throws, junior
Chase Shaneman continued his dominance in the weight throw after winning the event on his throw of 15.47 meters. Classmate
Tom Wood finished fifth with a mark of 13.97 meters and sophomore
Deane Leader set a new personal record with a throw of 12.04 meters to finish sixth. Sophomore
Sean Barrera finished eighth with his throw of 10.82 meters. Wood paced the Bears in the shot put with a throw of 14.11 meters to finish second and senior
Parker Howell followed in third with a personal best throw of 13.63 meters. First-year
Carter Kensil earned a top-10 finish in eighth behind a throw of 12.36 meters that was also a personal best.
Junior
Ken Komatsu earned a third place finish in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 3.95 meters. McKeen finished third in the pentathlon behind totaling 2,920 points and won the 1,000 meters portion on his time of 2:54.89.
The Bears return to action on Friday, February 9th as they will open competition at the two-day VMI Winter Classic.
