COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Indoor Track & Field team turned in a strong showing as they hosted the annual Frank Colden Invitational, their final home meet of the indoor season, at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on Saturday.
Sophomore Juniper Baurouth-Sherman had the highest place finish of any Bear competing on Saturday as she finished runner-up in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 3.05 meters while leading all Division III competitors as well in the event. Junior
Candace Hudson impressed in the 3,000 meters as she finished third overall behind a personal best time of 11:47.28.
Senior
Jacqueline Allen led the Bears in both throwing events as she finished third in the shot put behind a throw of 11.66 meters. Allen followed by recording a mark of 13.54 meters in the weight throw to finish fifth overall. First-year
Hannah Quinn rounded out the top-10 with a personal best throw of 11.57 meters.
Sophomore
Rhiannon Okuniewski registered a career best mark of 9.85 meters in the triple jump and finished fourth overall to highlight the jumps. Okuniewski also finished eighth in the long jump on her mark of 4.68 meters. Sophomore
Amanda Traska earned a fourth place finish in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.45 meters.
Senior
Samantha Grubb led a trio of Bears in the mile with a personal best time of 5:32.99 that placed her in fifth. Junior
Ryann Wauthier finished eighth after crossing the line at 5:38.21 while junior
Meghan Carroll followed with a personal best time of 5:39.15 in ninth. Senior
Rainah Dunham finished seventh to lead the Bears in the 200 meters on a time of 26.91 that was also a personal best.
Ursinus returns to action on Friday, February 9th as they will open competition at the two-day VMI Winter Classic.
