ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field sent athletes to compete in the two-day AARTFC Championships hosted by Nazareth College this weekend.
The meet served as a last chance opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships next week weekend in Virginia Beach.
On Friday, the men's 4x400 relay team of sophomore
Aiden Tobin, senior
Daniel Tabor, senior
Collin Ney, and senior
Payton Stanziani finished third overall in the race with a season best time of 3:18.37. Senior
Tom Wood recorded a career best throw of 15.49 meters in the shot put and finished sixth overall.
Tobin finished fifth in the 200 meters on Saturday with a time of 22.17 and will now await a possible NCAA Championship berth for the event after setting his best time last weekend at the Centennial Championships. Junior
David Kenny recorded a personal best time of 1:55.49 and finished third in the 800 while Stanziani finished fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 49.99.
Senior
Tucker McGrath placed 11th in the mile with a time of 4:18.00 and sophomore
Liam Johnston was 14th in the 3,000 meters on his time of 8:45.29. Junior
Chase Shaneman registered a throw of 14.82 meters in the weight throw and placed 19th.
