CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Track & Field team began competition at the two-day Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University on Friday.
The Bears had athletes competing a pair of throwing events and the triple jump on Friday. First-year
Sam Wechsler picked up right where she left off during the indoor season with an impressive second place finish in the triple jump. Wechsler recorded a jump of 10.89 meters that led all Division III athletes in the event. First-year
Madison Lippay placed 10th overall with her mark of 9.38 meters.
In the discus, first-year
Hannah Quinn led a trio of Bears with a throw of 32.47 meters to finish sixth overall in her first time competing collegiately in the event. Classmate
Randi Wood finished eight with a mark of 31.29 meters and senior
Jacqueline Allen finished 12th on a throw of 28.96 meters.
Allen paced the Bears in the shot put with a fourth place finish behind her throw of 11.54 meters. First-year
Libby Zalar was eighth overall and second among the Bears with a mark of 10.57 meters while Wood placed 11th on a throw of 9.74 meters.
The Bears return to action tomorrow, March 30th as they will wrap up the Danny Curran Invitational starting at 9:00 a.m.
