PHILADELPHIA/EWING, N.J. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team saw a pair of relay teams put up big numbers as they wrapped up their penultimate weekend to Centennial Championships at the Penn Relays and TCNJ Lions Invitational on Saturday.
The 4x800 relay team of juniors
Christian Rosado and
David Kenny, sophomore
Liam Johnston, and senior
Tucker McGrath blitzed the outdoor school record time in the Penn Relays 4x800 College race that featured Division I and Division III schools with a time of 7:47.16. Rosado, Kenny, and McGrath were a part of the previous record set at the 2022 Centennial Championships with
Paul Faggioli and the four topped the other Division III school in the race by four seconds in Johns Hopkins.

Aiden Tobin and seniors
Daniel Tabor,
Collin Ney, and
Payton Stanziani laid down the fifth fastest time in all of Division III now for the event at a 3:13.26. They were just a tick off the school record set last year and placed fifth in the race, beating four Division I schools in the process. Earlier in the day, the 4x100 relay team featuring Tobin, Tabor, Ney, and first-year
Riley Ford finished fourth in the college race with a time of 42.21.
At TCNJ, junior
Tom Wood registered a personal best throw in the shot put with a throw of 15.61 meters that placed him second overall and first among Division III throwers. Wood now holds the second best throw in the Centennial Conference for the event. First-year
Carter Kensil finished ninth with his throw of 13.32 meters and senior
Parker Howell recorded a mark of 12.85 meters to finish 13th. Sophomore
Deane Leader tallied a personal best throw of 12.61 meters and classmate Sean Barerra rounded the Bears out with his throw of 11.79 meters. Junior
Chase Shaneman led a trio of Bears in the discus with his throw of 45.05 meters that was good for sixth overall. Howell posted a mark of 39.05 meters and Wood was next on his throw of 36.85 meters.
Senior
Devon Greaves recorded a personal best time in the 400 meters after crossing the line at 49.95 and finished sixth overall. Greaves also posted a season best time in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.02 and was second among the Bears to first-year
Zorion Ferreira at his time of 15.83 that placed him 11th overall. First-year
Jayden McKeen recorded a personal best time of 17.03 and was followed by classmate
Devon Bock (17.26), a season best time from junior
Ethan Chambers (18.53), and sophomore
Eddie Weick (18.69). First-year
Dylan Baer was the lone Bear in the 400 meter hurdles and finished 15th on his time of 1:03.46.
Junior
Ken Komatsu finished sixth in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 4.15 meters. Faggioli paced the Bears in the 800 meters with his time of 1:58.80.
Ursinus returns to action on Friday, May 3rd as they will begin their quest for a third straight team title at the 2024 Centennial Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Muhlenberg starting at 1:00 p.m.
