ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Jacqueline Allen once again topper her own hammer throw school record while earning bronze as the Ursinus Women's Track & Field team began competition at the 2024 Centennial Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon at Muhlenberg College.
The Bears finished the first day in fifth place with 15 points. Johns Hopkins currently paces the field with 27.5 points.
For the third straight week, Allen topped her hammer throw school record behind a mark this time of 45.79 meters that was good enough for the bronze medal. It was the first medal for Allen in her career for the hammer throw. First-year
Hannah Quinn also posted a personal best as she recorded a throw of 29.19 meters.
Senior
Samantha Grubb finished fifth in the 10,000 meters behind a personal best time of 38:38.48 and junior
Ryann Wauthier placed seventh with her time of 38:38.48.
Sophomore
Juniper Bauroth-Sherman finished sixth in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 2.97 meters while classmate
Lucy Cornett posted a personal best mark of 2.37 meters.
Ursinus returns to day two tomorrow, May 4th with the first events going off at 10:00 a.m. from Muhlenberg.
