FLEETWOOD, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's golf team currently sits in ninth place after the first day of competition at the Golden Oaks Invitational.
 

Five Bears competed at the Golden Oaks Golf Club, a par-72 course that stretches over 6,492-yards. Drew University is currently leading the standings behind totaling a team score of two-over 290, while Albright College (302) ranks second, and Arcadia University (305) sit in third place. Alvernia University (312) is currently tied with Hood College (312) in fourth with Ursinus ranking ninth tallying a team total of 342. Drew's Elliot Parker currently leads the tournament by six strokes after shooting a five-under 67 during the opening round.

 
Sophomore Trevor Maden currently paces the Bears lineup behind a first-round score of an 11-over 83 and sits in a tie for 34th overall. It marks as a career-low score for Maden as he improved by four strokes since shooting an 87 at the Battle at Berkleigh on Thursday. Junior Billy Breslin ranked second among the Bears and currently ranks tied for 38th signing for an 84 during the opening round.

 
Sophomore Brandon Mongan signed for a 15-over 87 during his opening round and currently ranks tied for 42nd overall. Just behind Mongan, junior Jimmy Cage (88) ranks 44th, and first-year Aidan Bonczek (89) rounds out the five Bears competing tied for 45th.

 
The Bears will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they wrap up the second day of competition at the Golden Oaks Invitational at noon.
