WILLIAMSBURG, Pa. – The Ursinus men's golf team wrapped up their fall season by finishing 11th at "The Melee" tournament on between Sunday and Monday.
Six Bears competed at the Ford's Colony Country Club, a par-71 course that stretches over 6,621-yards. Ursinus accumulated a two-day score of 656 (+88) to finish 11th overall behind team tallies of 319 and 337. Christopher Newport won the team title with a score of 579 (+11), with Bridgewater College (585, +17) and Salisbury University (588, +20) rounding out the top three teams.
First-year
JP Hoban paced the Bears lineup with a total of 152 (+10) behind carding a 74 on Sunday and a 78 in his final round to tie for 22nd overall. His tournament was highlighted by shooting a two-under 33 during his back nine of Sunday's round behind a pair of birdies.
Junior
Brandon Mongan was second among Bears' golfers and tied for 49th with his total of 162 (+20) from an 83 (+12) on Sunday and a 79 (+8) on Monday. Mongan tallied a birdie during his round and combined for 17 pars between the two rounds. First-year
Lucas Milliken totaled a 167 (+25) and ranked 53rd overall. He shot a 79 in his initial round and signed for an 88 on Monday.
Senior
Jimmy Cage (175, +33) and junior
Trevor Maden rounded out the Bears' lineup by finishing 57th and 60th, respectively. Cage recorded an 83 (+12) in his first round, before closing out the tournament with a 92 on Monday, while Maden signed for scores of 90 and 96 finishing his round with a total of 186 (+44).
Senior
Slade Figard competed as an individual, totaling a 185 (+43) to finish 59th overall behind rounds of 88 and 97.
The Bears return to action on March 21st as they compete at The Ruckus hosted by Williamsburg National Golf Course.
