WAYNESBORO, Pa. – The Ursinus men's golf team completed the second round of the Centennial Conference Championships, ranking sixth in the eight-team field at Waynesboro Country Club on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears posted a team score of 318, marking their lowest round at the Centennial Conference Championships since at least 2014. Ursinus was tied with Muhlenberg after Friday's opening round but outshot the Mules by 16 strokes on Saturday to take sole possession of sixth place with a two-day total of 641. Franklin & Marshall leads the field at 568, followed by McDaniel at 572. Dickinson (576) sits in third, Gettysburg (585) in fourth and Swarthmore (597) in fifth, while Ursinus (641), Muhlenberg (657) and Washington College (686) round out the standings.
First-year
JP Hoban impressed in the second round, climbing three spots in the individual standings after carding a 74 (+2) to sit in 17th place. Hoban birdied the par-4 second hole and recorded pars on 14 of his final 16 holes, shooting a 1-over 37 on both the front and back nine.
First-year
Lucas Milliken moved up one spot and is now tied for 29th after shooting an 81. Milliken matched his opening-round score from Friday and recorded birdies on the par-4 second and par-3 seventh holes. He shot a 3-over 39 on the front nine and a 6-over 42 on the back.
Classmate
Jason Walsh climbed two spots with a round of 80 and ranks 30th overall. Walsh shot a 2-over 38 on the front nine, highlighted by seven consecutive pars, before adding a birdie on the par-4 13th en route to a 42 on the back.
Senior
Jimmy Cage carded an 86 in the second round and is tied for 33rd. He birdied the opening par-5 first hole and totaled seven pars. Sophomore
Aidan Bonczek rounded out the Bears lineup with an 83 and is tied for 35th. Bonczek improved from an 87 on Friday and recorded eight pars along with a birdie on the par-5 12th.
The Bears return to action Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. for the final round of the Centennial Conference Championships.
