WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Ursinus men's golf team concluded play at The Ruckus tournament, hosted by Williamsburg National Golf Club – Jamestown Course, on Sunday.
Eight Bears competed in the two-day event, highlighted by a strong second-round push from several golfers to lead Ursinus to a 10th-place team finish. The Bears recorded a 23-shot improvement from yesterdat, earning a tally of 322 to finish with a two-day total of 667. Drew University won the team title with a two-day total of 582 (+6). Salisbury University (588, +12) placed second, McDaniel College (589, +13) finished third, while Stevens (594, +18) and Hartford (612, +36) rounded out the top five.
Sophomore
Aidan Bonczek paced Ursinus with a two-round total of 159 (+15) to tie for 36th overall. Bonczek improved by seven strokes on Day 2, carding a 4-over 76 after opening with an 83. His round was highlighted by three birdies, including consecutive birdies on the par-5 14th and par-4 15th holes.
First-year
Lucas Milliken finished 46th with a 168 (+24) after rounds of 87 and 81. Milliken shaved six strokes off his opening round, with his second round highlighted by 11 pars, including three straight on the back nine.
First-year
JP Hoban tied for 47th with a two-day score of 170 (+26), posting rounds of 89 and 81. Hoban bounced back in the final round with an eight-shot improvement, capitalizing on a birdie on the par-4 sixth and recording seven pars on the back nine to finish with a 2-over 38.
Senior
Jimmy Cage and junior
Trevor Maden each tied for 50th overall with matching totals of 171 (+27). Cage recorded rounds of 87 and 84, while Maden opened with an 85 before finishing with an 86. Maden tallied birdies on the par-3 eighth and par-4 12th holes.
Senior
Jason Walsh placed 52nd with a score of 174 (+30), posting rounds of 88 and 86. Walsh delivered a consistent performance and added a pair of birdies in the second round.
Senior
Slade Figard showed one of the biggest improvements in the field, finishing 56th with a 177 (+33). After a 94 in the opening round, Figard rebounded with an 11-stroke improvement, firing an 83 in the final round.
Junior
Logan Jones rounded out the Ursinus lineup with a 58th-place finish at 180 (+36), recording rounds of 88 and 92.
The Bears return to action Friday, April 3rd, at the Spring Thaw, hosted by Shawnee Golf Club.
