The Ursinus Bears Football Team returns home to Patterson Field for the first time in nearly a month as they will host McDaniel in their first home Centennial Conference game of the season.

LAST MEETING: Last year, the Bears earned a 42-0 shutout win over McDaniel on the road on the first Saturday of November. After a slow start on offense, the Bears finally broke a scoreless tie just before halftime but had the control of the game entire time with its defense. Ursinus added two more touchdowns in the third quarter to go up 21-0 with one being a defensive score behind a fumble recovery in the end zone. The Bears closed the game with three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to put the finishing touches on the game. Ursinus held the Green Terror to just 61 yards of total offense behind limiting them to a staggering low -14 rushing yards. The Bears also held McDaniel to just five total first downs in the full game.Â

FIELD GENERAL: Junior quarterback
Tristan Machado was outstanding for the Bears in their game against Muhlenberg last Saturday. Machado threw for 329 yards which topped his season-high of 323 against Kean in September and a season-high four touchdown passes. He also set season bests with 29 completions on 45 attempts. Machado is the first quarterback in the Centennial Conference to cross the 1,000+ passing yard mark for the season and is up to 11 touchdown passes which ranks second in the Centennial.

BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE: Senior wide receiver
Cody House had his best game to date against Muhlenberg last Saturday. House led the Bears with seven catches for 80 yards and caught his first touchdown of the season which came one year to the weekend he matched his career high with three touchdown receptions. House now leads the team with 16 receptions and has 159 receiving yards that ranks fourth on the team. He is seeking to top his career bests from his 2023 season where he caught 37 passes for 473 yards with five touchdowns. House has recorded at least 30 receptions in each of the past two seasons and has one All-Centennial honor under his belt in 2023 as a returner.

YOU PICK TWO: Junior defensive back
Kendall Robinson continued his impressive first full season as a starter against Muhlenberg on Saturday. Robinson grabbed two interceptions against the Mules and became the third Bear this season to record two interceptions in a game. Junior linebacker
Matt Agar had two against Alvernia and sophomore defensive back
Nick Strusowski had two against Moravian in a week that led to a pair of weekly awards. Robinson recorded his first career collegiate interception against Alvernia in the opener and now has 27 tackles (20 solo) on the season which ranks second on the team while having a pair of two pass break-ups.

RETURN TO FORM: Senior defensive back
Anthony Esposito grabbed his first interception of the season this past Saturday against Muhlenberg. It was Esposito's first interception since November 2023 against Gettysburg after missing all last season with an injury. Esposito added a career-high eight tackles (seven solo) against the Mules and a 0.5 tackle for loss. Esposito is a two-time All-Centennial selection (one first team and one honorable mention) and is up to 20 tackles on the season (15 solo). He is tied for second on the team with three pass break-ups as well.

AGENT ZERO: Senior wide receiver
Markel Roberts-Jackson found the end zone once again for the Bears against Muhlenberg. He had two catches for 52 yards against the Mules and has now scored a touchdown in all four games this season and has scored a touchdown in five of the last six games dating back to last season. His four touchdowns lead the team and are tied for second in the Centennial Conference. He finished the game with two catches for 52 yards and is up to eight catches for 171 yards on the season.

DOMINANT FORCE: Senior defensive end
Aaron Rios had another big game for the Bears against Muhlenberg this past Saturday. Rios made a team-high nine tackles (seven solo) and 3.5 tackles for loss with one sack. Rios now has a sack in three of the four Ursinus games this season and owns the team lead with 28 tackles (17 solo). He also paces the team and Centennial Conference with 7.5 tackles for loss in addition to his team-leading three sacks.

SCOUTING THE GREEN TERROR: The Green Terror dropped a 56-7 contest to No. 19 Carnegie Mellon in their Centennial Conference opener. A 35-point second quarter from Carnegie Mellon ultimately doomed the Green Terror as they trailed just 7-0 after the first quarter. The Tartans added on two more touchdowns before McDaniel broke up the shutout with their lone touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Jayden Booker has assumed the starting quarterback role for the Green Terror this season and has 538 passing yards with two touchdown passes and six interceptions. Senior wide receiver Grayson Wendel leads the team with 204 receiving yards with 13 receptions and classmate Logan Marsh has a team-leading 21 receptions that ranks fourth in the Centennial. First-year running back Cordae James has a team-leading 208 rushing yards and one touchdown and senior running back Micajah Cobbs has one touchdown and 100 rushing yards.

On defense, graduate student Malachi Murphy does a little of everything for the Green Terror as he leads the team with 32 tackles (19 solo) and has team-highs of two interceptions and four pass break-ups. Sophomore linebacker Taevon LeGrande ranks second on the team with 28 tackles (11 solo) and junior Kevin Batchelor Jr. has a team-high 2.5 sacks and tackles for loss. Senior defensive back Christian Homer has totaled 19 tackles (12 solo) and ranks second on the team with three pass break-ups.
