LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's swimming team wrapped up the third day of competition at the Centennial Conference Championship on Saturday evening from Franklin & Marshall College.
Ursinus currently sits in sixth place overall behind 225 team points. Swarthmore College (639) currently is the leader of the pack with Gettysburg College (604) and Franklin & Marshall (324) rounding out the top-three. Dickinson College (241) and Washington College (233) rank just ahead of the Bears, while McDaniel (114) rounds out the seven-team field.
The Bears opened with a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay as the quartet of seniors

Jonah Kasznay, and sophomore
Jack Giuliana combined for a time of 1:23.80. Giuliana followed up with a sixth-place finish in the A-Final of the 100-yard butterfly by touching the wall at 50.14. Giuliana's time of 50.08 in the preliminary round now ranks as a career best and second all-time in program history behind Dan Mueser's time of 49.94 in 2019.
Ursinus had two Bears in the A-Final of the 200-yard freestyle as Schreffler just missed a spot on the podium with a fourth-place finish and a time of 1:41.60. Kasznay placed seventh with a time of 1:43.04 and set a new personal best time of 1:42.76 in the preliminary round. Next, in the B-Final of the 100-yard breaststroke, junior
Francesco D'Avella (58.21) and Sonn (58.65) teamed up to place second and third, respectively. D'Avella's time was just shy of his school record time of 57.03, while Sonn's time of 58.16 in the prelims ranked as a career best.
Tomorrow morning's prelims will consist of the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and 1650 free.
The Bears return to action tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. as they compete on the final day of competition for the Centennial Conference Championship.
