HAVERFORD, Pa. – In their final meet before Centennial Conference Championships next week, the Ursinus Men's Track & Field team showed well at the Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford on Saturday.
The Bears competed against nine different schools Division III from either the Greater Philadelphia area or the Centennial Conference in the meet.
The meet opened on Friday afternoon as the weight throw was held at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center and the Bears set the tone for the weekend in throwing events when senior
Chase Shaneman won the event with his season best throw of 15.47 meters. It led a dominance from the Bears in the weight throw as first-year
Noah Sanders finished runner-up with a season best throw of 15.21 meters. Senior
Tom Wood finished fourth with a 13.96 meter throw and sophomore
Carter Kensil finished seventh with his mark of 12.98 meters. Junior
Sean Barrera rounded out the top-10 with his throw of 12.44 meters. Wood completed the throws sweep with a 14.80 meter winning throw in the shot put. Kensil finished third with a career best throw of 14.15 meters and Sanders placed fifth at a 12.42 meter toss. Barrera finished seventh with his throw of 12.27 meters and Shaneman was right behind in eighth at 11.52 meters.
In sprints, sophomore
James Long-Stratton finished fourth with a career best time of 23.35 in the 200 meters. Senior
Mason Jolivette was ninth in the 60 meters with his time of 7.28 and junior
Eddie Weick led a trio of Bears in the 60 meter hurdles in sixth on his time of 10.48. Junior
Ethan Staurowsky was eighth in the 60 meter hurdles with his time of 11.14 and sophomore
Logan Downs was ninth on a 11.40. First-year Tristan Lee-Edwards earned a top-10 in the 400 meters with his time of 56.23.

Aidan Furtek placed in the top five of the mile with his season best time of 4:37.78. The 4x400 relay team of Furtek, sophomore
Dom Nunez, junior
Justice Scheidel, and first-year
Johnathon Sabo finished third with their time of 3:52.05.
The Bears begin competition at the 2025 Centennial Conference Indoor Championships which will be hosted by Franklin & Marshall. First competition begins Saturday, March 1st at 10:30 a.m.
