LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team opened the 2025 Centennial Conference Indoor Championships highlighted by a gold medal in the pole vault from first-year
Mitchell Davis on Saturday at Franklin & Marshall.
The Bears sit in second overall in the team standings with 41 points and sit 23 points behind Johns Hopkins in first place.
Davis completed his dominant run through the Centennial Conference this indoor season by winning the pole vault on a mark of 4.85 meters. Davis led the entire indoor season within the Conference with his top marks and won the event by .35 meters. He is the first pole vault champion for the Bears since Brody Myers in 2022, who also did it as a first-year student-athlete. Junior
Sean Bowers placed fifth in the vault for Ursinus after clearing the bar at 3.85 meters.
Senior
Chase Shaneman garnered the silver medal in the weight throw for the first time in his career for the event behind his mark of 15.42 meters. Sophomore
Carter Kensil placed sixth with his throw of 14.58 meters and senior
Tom Wood was the third Bear to earn points in seventh with his throw of 14.27 meters.
The 4x800 relay team nearly repeated its gold medal from a season ago as the four of sophomore

Christian Rosado earned the silver medal behind their time of 7:54.09 that was just .6 from the winning time set by Dickinson.

Aiden Tobin was the Bears lone qualifier in the 60 meter dash finals for tomorrow as he finished third in the prelims with his time of 7.02. Ursinus is loaded with four qualifiers in the 60-meter hurdle finals led by junior
Patrick Ryan, who placed second in the prelims on his time of 8.90. Senior
Devon Greaves was fifth on his time of 8.93, sophomore
Dylan Baer was sixth on his personal bet of 9.00, and first-year
Kyle Cummings posted a time of 9.07 to round out the Bears finalists in seventh.

Ethan Chambers sits second in the Heptathlon standings after day one with 2,206 points and sophomore
Devon Bock is seventh with 1,834 points.
The second and final day of Indoor Championships will start at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, March 2nd.
