All-Region Teams
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus women's basketball senior Chinwe Irondi garnered D3hoops.com All-Region Five First team honors, announced by the website on Tuesday.
 
 
The D3hoops.com team consists of players originally nominated by Sports Information Directors (SIDs) at the various schools. The ballot was then made available to SIDs on a voting committee, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region. It is the 24th season D3hoops.com has named All-Region teams.
 
 
This is the second time in her career that Irondi has earned a spot on the D3hoops.com All-Region team, after earning second-team honors last season. She became just the third player in Centennial Conference history to become a four-time first-team all-conference selection and was named the Centennial Player of the Year this season. She joins Ellen Cosgrove as the only Bears to win the conference's prestigious award.
 
 
This season, Irondi averaged a double-double across 26 games and led the Centennial in scoring (20.2 ppg), rebounding (10.0), and field-goal percentage (60.9%). The senior forward scored 20 or more points in 15 games this season, totaling 13 double-doubles, and set a career-high with 33 points on November 16th against Neumann. She ends an outstanding career ranking second all-time in program history with 1,818 points and 1,015 career rebounds.
 
 
Irondi is eligible for the D3hoops.com All-American team, which will be released on March 22nd at the NCAA Division III National Championship game.
