COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus Women's Basketball senior
Chinwe Irondi garnered another postseason accolade list by earning Fifth Team All-American honors by D3hoops.com, announced by the website on Saturday afternoon during pregame coverage of the Division III National Championship game.
Irondi is the first Ursinus women's basketball player in program history to garner the All-American nod from which comes off the heels of becoming the second Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American on Wednesday. This is the 28th year the website has selected and published an All-America team. These are chosen by D3hoops.com staff in consultation with All-Region voting results from players nominated for All-Region.
In addition to her two All-American nods, the lengthy postseason accolade list for Irondi includes a first team D3hoops.com All-Region 5 First Team selection and being named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year. Irondi kicked off her postseason awards by becoming just the third player in Centennial Conference history to win both the Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year awards in a career along with becoming the third player in the history of the Conference to become a four-time All-Centennial Women's Basketball first team selection.
Irondi punctuated a decorated Ursinus Women's Basketball career in the 2024-25 season by repeating her Centennial Conference scoring title at 20.2 points per game to a tune of 525 points that were both career-highs. She averaged a double-double by recording a Centennial-leading 10.0 rebounds per game and a career-high 260 total rebounds. She recorded double-figures for scoring in 24 of the 26 games this past season, 15 20+ point games, and 13 double-doubles. Irondi became the second player in Ursinus program history to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds for her career and shot a whopping 60.9 percent (224-of-368) from the field. She will finish her career second all-time in Ursinus history with 1,818 career points and 1,015 career rebounds.
