CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field got its penultimate weekend of the outdoor regular season rolling this afternoon at the two-day Paul Donahue Invitational hosted by Widener University.
In the first day of the meet that featured schools once again from all three NCAA Divisions, the Bears had athletes in throwing, jumping, and distance events.
Seniors
Tom Wood and
Chase Shaneman highlighted the day by winning the shot put and discus throw, respectively. Wood tossed a career best throw of 15.77 in the shot put to win the event and now holds the top mark in the Centennial Conference. Shaneman also topped his previous career best in the discus to win the event with a mark of 48.27 that sits second in the Centennial Conference. Wood also threw in the discus and set a new career best at 41.95 meters to finish ninth overall. Sophomore
Carter Kensil earned a top-10 in the shot put with a throw of 13.80 meters and first-year
Noah Sanders finished 12th in the discus with his mark of 40.29 meters.
Junior
Cole Jackson was the lone Bear in the triple jump and posted a mark of 13.02 meters to finish 12th overall and sophomore
Nav Manick finished sixth in the 10,000 meters with his career best time of 33.27.19.
The Bears return to action tomorrow, April 19th as they conclude the Paul Donahue Invitational starting at 9:00 a.m.
