GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team turned in their final tune-up before the Centennial Championship meet next week by competing in the Gwynedd Mercy Last Chance Meet on Sunday.
The Bears had four of the five spots in the 110-meter hurdles and junior
Patrick Ryan won the race with his time of 16.36. First-year
Kyle Cummings was second with a 17.62, sophomore
Devon Bock was third on a 17.73, and sophomore
Logan Downs was fifth on a 20.78. First-year
Andy Zigbuo won the 100 meter dash with his time of 11.59.
Senior
Tom Wood won the shot put with a throw of 15.09 meters and sophomore
Carter Kensil was third at 11.86 meters. First-year
Nick Boyle rounded out the group at 10.60 meters in sixth. Senior
Chase Shaneman won the discus on a throw of 45.35 meters and Wood placed third at 37.91 meters. First-years
Noah Sanders and
Dante Calcaterra followed with Sanders taking fourth at 37.06 meters and Calcaterra ninth at 28.95 meters. Sanders led a group in the hammer in second place with his throw of 48.10 meters and Kensil was third at 44.62 meters. Sophomore
Michael Danter was seventh with a throw of 33.51 meters while Calcaterra took eighth at 27.38 meters. Sophomore
Liam Janschka finished second in the javelin at 47.54 meters and senior
Eric Sugarman was fourth at 43.66 meters. Danter placed sixth with his throw of 35.28 meters.
Sophomore
Jaxon Geddio finished second in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.85 meters and junior
David Piotrowski was third at 1.80 meters. Bock and Downs finished sixth and seventh in the long jump on marks of 5.03 and 4.82 meters, respectively.
The Bears return to action on Friday, May 2nd as they will host the first of the three-day 2025 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet starting at 1:00 p.m.
