COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team hosted their home Track & Field Festival this weekend at Patterson Field in the first full team meet of the 2025 Outdoor Season.
Sophomore
Jayden McKeen topped his previous best javelin mark set a week ago by winning the event with a throw of 68.31 meters. It was the second farthest javelin throw in NCAA Division III this season .9 off the top mark of 68.40 set by Corey Stalters of Bridgewater State. McKeen also draws closer to the Ursinus Outdoor New Rules Javelin record of 69.46 meters set by Jon Wood in 1989. Senior
Chase Shaneman finished fourth in the javelin with his throw of 57.48 meters and classmate
Eric Sugarman was eighth at 48.09 meters.
Senior
Tom Wood was the highest finishing Division III athlete in the shot put with a season best mark of 15.14 meters and finished fourth overall. Shaneman led Ursinus in the discus throw in fourth with his mark of 43.71 that led all Division III competitors. First-year
Noah Sanders rounded out the top-10 in the discus with his throw of 37.79 meters. Three Bears finished in the top-10 for the hammer throw that was held on Friday afternoon, led by Sanders in fifth with his throw of 44.64 meters. Shaneman was sixth with a 44.24 meter throw and sophomore
Carter Kensil was seventh at 44.18 meters. In jumps, junior
James Sims III was the lone Bear in the high jump and finished sixth after clearing the bar at 1.84 meters. First-year
Andy Zigbuo finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.59 meters and junior
Cole Jackson was sixth in the triple jump to lead the Bears at 13.24 meters.
In sprints, junior
Aiden Tobin finished fifth in the 200 meters with his time of 22.10 during his 2025 outdoor season debut. Senior
Devon Greaves finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with his time of 15.88 and sophomore
Dylan Baer posted a personal best time of 17.06. Greaves also finished fifth in the 400 meter hurdles with his time of 56.49 and senior
Mason Jolivette finished ninth with his time of 58.31.
First-year
Aidan Furtek finished second in the 3,000 steeplechase with his time of 10:26.34 and sophomore
Nav Manick placed eighth in the 5,000 meters with a personal best time of 16:00.60. Sophomore
Troy Hedrick led the Bears in the 1500 meters by rounding out the top-10 with his time of 4:09.06.
The 4x400 relay team of Tobin, Jolivette, Greaves, and first-year
Kyle Cummings finished sixth overall and was third among Division III teams with a time of 3:24.59.
The Bears return to action on Friday, April 11th as they will open competition at the three-day Bucknell Outdoor Classic.
