CHESTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Track & Field teams began their final push to NCAA Championship bids this afternoon by competing in the Widener Final Chance Meet on Monday.
On the men's side, first-year
Mitchell Davis edged his one-week old school record mark by placing third after clearing the bar at 4.95 meters. Davis remains in good shape to officially lock up an NCAA Championship Meet berth and was the top Division III athlete in the event. Sophomore
Jayden McKeen was also the top Division III athlete in the javelin as he finished third at 59.46 meters.
Senior
Tom Wood finished fourth in the shot put with a 14.45 meter throw and classmate
James Sims III placed ninth in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.89 meters. First-year
Andy Zigbuo recorded a 5.85 meter long jump mark and placed 19th overall. Zigbuo also posted a time of 11.19 in the 100 meter dash that was second on the Bears to junior
Aiden Tobin, who crossed the line at 11.10. Tobin also recorded a time of 22.15 in the 200 meter dash. Junior
Liam Johnston finished the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.28.
Two women's athletes competed for the Bears as junior
Kaelin Ryan finished third in the 100-meter hurdle prelims at a personal best time of 14.46. Junior
Mia Sideris competed in the 5,000 meters and finished with a time of 18:23.27.
The Bears continue their week on Wednesday, May 14th as they will start competition at the two-day AARTFC Championships at Williams College.
