NEW ORLEANS – The Ursinus College women's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) while rising senior Kaelin Ryan and rising junior Sam Wechsler received All-Academic Athlete recognition, the organization announced on Monday.

To earn All-Academic Team status, the cumulative grade-point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least 3.1. The Bears earned a 3.44 GPA, marking the ninth consecutive season of All-Academic Team laurels under head coach Carl Blickle in his final season with the team.

Recent graduate Meghan Carroll, and rising seniors Juniper Bauroth-Sherman, Lucy Cornett, Veronica Filippone, Corrine Martello, Ryan, and Mia Sideris; along with rising juniors Talia Jones, Madison Lippay, Hannah Quinn, Wechsler, and Kira Wise were all named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring.

Wechsler made the prestigious All-Academic Athlete list for the second straight season while Ryan made her first appearance on the team, which rewards student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and rank among the top-50 individuals or top-35 relay units in the nation. Already All-Metro Region performer and Centennial Outdoor Individual Champions, Ryan and Wechsler now added All-Academic Individual accolades to cap off a stellar 2025 season.

Wechsler won her first career gold medal in the triple jump at the Centennial Conference Championships in early May and fortified her triple jump mark this past week at the AARTFC Championships by recording a career best 11.86 meters. Her mark ranked second in the Metro Region, and she tied for fourth in the region in the long jump at 5.56 meters. Wechsler was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team as well.

Ryan put together her best track & field season to date this Spring. Ryan ranked third in the Metro Region for the 100-meter hurdles after recording a career best mark of 14.46 and became the first Ursinus Women's Track & Field Athlete to be named the Centennial outdoor most outstanding track athlete of the Championship meet since Christa Johnson in 2009 behind winning her first career individual gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles. She joined Wechsler on the CSC Academic All-District team.
