READING, Pa. – The Ursinus men's track and field team posted six personal-best performances while competing at the Plex Shootout on Saturday, hosted by Alvernia University.
The Bears recorded three second-place finishes to highlight the meet. Sophomore
Noah Sanders placed second in the weight throw with a mark of 17.68 meters, ranking 23rd in Division III. Junior
Jaxon Geddio followed with a personal-best mark of 1.90 meters to finish second in the high jump, while sophomore
Andy Zigbuo took second in the long jump with a mark of 6.57 meters.
Sophomore
Kyren Young added a sixth-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 23.37 seconds, while first-year
Barry Harris finished 22nd with a personal-best time of 24.07. Ursinus earned three top-10 finishes in the high jump, led by Geddio's second-place showing. Senior Dave Piotrowski placed sixth with a mark of 1.90 meters, while senior
Cole Jackson (1.80 meters) took ninth and classmate
Markel Roberts-Jackson (1.75 meters) finished 13th. In the pole vault, senior
Sean Bowers placed sixth with a mark of 4.05 meters, and first-year
John Acosta finished 20th with a mark of 3.45 meters.
Junior
Carter Kensil led the Bears in the shot put, placing fifth with a throw of 14.10 meters. Kensil later finished ninth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.03 meters, while teammates
Nick Boyle (8.84 meters) and
Dante Calcaterra (8.80 meters) rounded out the Ursinus lineup.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Harris, Young, first-years
Brayden Davis and Jacob Lentz combined for a season-best time of 1:34.39.
The Bears return to action Sunday at the Widener Schuylkill Showdown, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
