LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team opened the 2026 Centennial Conference Indoor Championships by crowning a pair of individual champions gold medal on Saturday at Franklin & Marshall.
Sophomore
Mitchell Davis successfully defended his title in the pole vault while classmate
Noah Sanders continued his blistering run in the weight throw with his first career gold medal. The Bears sit in second overall in the team standings with 51 points and sit eight points behind Johns Hopkins in first place.
For the fourth straight meet, Sanders bested both his new school and Centennial Conference record by winning the event on a meet record throw of 18.65 meters. The rise of Sanders has now has him with the 19th best weight throw in all of Division III as he seeks to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Junior
Carter Kensil finished fifth in the weight throw with his mark of 14.76 meters and sophomore
Nick Boyle rounded out the top-10 on his throw of 12.13 meters.
Davis won his third straight Centennial Conference gold medal between the indoor and outdoor seasons after clearing the bar at 4.70 meters, staying unbeaten in Centennial Conference meets. Senior
Sean Bowers set a personal best mark of 4.30 meters to finish fifth and first-year
John Acosta placed seventh on a mark of 3.85 meters.
A pair of relay teams medaled as the 4x200 relay team of senior

James Long-Stratton, and first-year
Aidan Heppard placed second on a season best time of 1:29.35. The 4x800 relay team of junior
Troy Hedrick, junior

Ramon Martinez, and senior
Liam Johnston finished third on their time of 8:08.69
Tapler and Tobin both qualified for the 60 meter dash finals tomorrow with times of 6.98 and 7.09, respectively. Tapler was fourth with a personal best time and Tobin placed seventh in the prelims. Two Bears also qualified for the 60-meter hurdle finals as senior
Patrick Ryan placed third with a personal best time of 8.84 and first-year
Bryson Sacher was seventh on a time of 8.90 that was also a personal best.
Senior
Cole Jackson finished seventh in the triple jump with a personal best mark of 13.29 meters. Junior
Logan Downs sits fifth in the Heptathlon standings after day one with 2,341 points and junior
Devon Bock is eighth with 1,820 points.
The second and final day of Indoor Championships will start at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, March 1st.
