COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus men's track and field team showcased several top performances while hosting the Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday inisde the Floy Lewis Bakes Fieldhouse.
In the field events, sophomore
Noah Sanders tied the indoor school record in the weight throw with a mark of 18.00 meters. Sanders won the event, matching Isaiah Battle's record of 18.00 set in 2023. Junior
Carter Kensil finished fifth with a personal-best throw of 14.91 meters. Kensil followed up with another strong performance in the shot put, recording a personal-best mark of 14.64 meters to place second.
The Bears earned a pair of top finishes in the pole vault, as senior
Sean Bowers placed second with a mark of 3.95 meters, while first-year
John Acosta finished sixth at 3.50 meters. Senior
Markel Roberts-Jackson led Ursinus in the high jump, placing fifth with a season-best leap of 1.80 meters. Meanwhile, in the triple jump, senior
Cole Jackson paced the Bears with a sixth-place finish at 12.70 meters.
On the track, first-year
Noah Tapler and senior
Aiden Tobin highlighted the Bears' sprint group by placing second and third in the 60-meter dash with times of 7.04 and 7.06, respectively. In the 200 meters, first-year
Aidan Heppard placed 10th in 23.73, while classmates
Brayden Davis (24.22) and
Barry Harris (24.25) finished 20th and 22nd.
In the 400 meters, junior
Dylan Baer posted a personal-best time of 53.47 to finish seventh, with Davis taking eighth in 53.72. Junior Dominic Nunez led Ursinus in the 5,000 meters, placing third in 16:45.77, while senior
Alek Kusmirek ranked 11th in 18:30.41.
The Bears return to action Friday, February 13th, when they compete at the Widener Indoor Classic.
