LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team opened their weekend of split squad action at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by Lynchburg and the Bill Butler Invitational at West Chester.
In throws, sophomore
Noah Sanders placed third in the hammer throw at 52.61 meters and junior
Carter Kensil was eighth at 45.09 meters. At West Chester, sophomores
Nick Boyle and
Dante Calcaterra recorded hammer throw marks of 39.40 and 34.17 meters, respectively. A pair of Bears earned top-five finishes in the javelin as well with junior
Riley Ford finishing third at 52.02 meters and classmate
Liam Janschka was fifth on a personal best throw of 48.30 meters.
First-years
Elias Knoll and
Evan O'Connor competed in the 5,000 meters by finishing fourth and fifth on personal best times of 15:55.12 and 15:56.00, respectively. Junior
Troy Hedrick finished fourth in the 1500 meters on a personal best time of 4:04.82 and first-year
Ramon Martinez placed 11
th on a personal best time of 4:09.03. Senior
Liam Johnston recorded a time of 4:22.56 in the mile.
The 4x400 relay team of senior
Aiden Tobin, juniors
James Long-Stratton and
Dylan Baer, along with first-year
Brayden Davis finished third after posting a time of 3:22.58 to lead a pair of Bears relay teams. Senior
Eddie Weick, junior
Logan Downs, sophomore
Kyren Young, and first-year
Will Traska finished eighth on a time of 3:35.28.
The Bears wrap up their weekend tomorrow, April 11th as they will conclude at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic and the Bill Butler Invitational at West Chester.
