HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team competed in some midweek action on Tuesday at the Haverford Tri-Meet. The meet featured the Bears and nine other Philadelphia area schools.
The Bears totaled three event wins in the meet as they began their tune-up for the upcoming Penn Relays and Centennial Conference Championships.
Sophomore
Mitchell Davis led a 1-2 finish in the pole vault after clearing the bat at 4.70 meters. Senior
Sean Bowers was second at 4.27 meters and junior
Logan Downs was fifth at 3.20 meters. Downs then claimed the high jump at 1.65 meters. Sophomore
Kyle Cummings claimed the Bears other win at the 400-meter hurdles after crossing the line at 59.13. Senior
Ethan Staurowsky finished fourth in the race at 1:05.26.
First-year
Jacob Lentz finished third in the 110-meter hurdles on a time of 18.54 and later 11th in the 200 meters. Classmate
Brayden Davis led the Bears in the 200 after finishing fifth on a time of 23.34. Sophomore Tristan Lee-Edwards paced five Bears in the 400 meters with his fourth-place finish at 56.15. Sophomore
Aaron Foy was fifth at 56.89, first-year
Will Traska was sixth at 57.75, junior
Daniel Magallanes seventh at 58.06, and
Arun Kargbo eighth at 1:02.76. Sophomore Connor Flaherty placed sixth at 2:06.00 in the 800 meters.
In throws, junior
Michael Danter was fourth in the discus throw at 35.10 meters and classmate
Devon Bock finished eighth at 23.44. Sophomore
Dante Calcaterra was third in the hammer throw at 33.02 meters while classmate
Nick Boyle was fourth in the shot put at 11.43 meters. Junior
Liam Janschka was third in the javelin at 49.38 meters and Bock placed eighth at 27.87 meters.
The Bears return to action on Friday, April 24th as they will see select athletes compete in the 130th annual Penn Relays at Franklin Field and at the Rick McCorkle Invitational at TCNJ.
