PHILADELPHIA/EWING, N.J. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team began their last weekend of April with athletes at both the Penn Relays and the TCNJ Rick McCorkle Invitational on Friday.
At Franklin Field, the Bears had a 4x400 relay team consisting of senior
Patrick Ryan, and juniors
Dylan Baer,
Logan Downs, and
James Long-Stratton compete in the Pop Haddleton MAC 4x400 relay race and they finished seventh with a time of 3:25.83.
The Bears got numerous athletes started in their final tune-up before Centennial Championships next weekend at TCNJ as well. Junior
Devon Bock posted a 12.43 in the 100 meters while classmate
Daniel Magallanes recorded a time of 24.19 in the 200 meters. First-year
Will Traska had the Bears top time in the 400 meters at 55.51 while classmate
Jacob Lentz finished ninth in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:01.00.
Sophomore
Johnathon Sabo finished third in the 3000 steeplechase at a time of 12:06.04 and junior
Sean Geherty led the Bears in the 800 meters at 2:05.69. First-year
Nick Sirdashney had the Bears top time in the 1500 on a personal best mark of 4:21.94. Junior
Dom Nunez and senior
Alek Kusmirek went back-to-back in the 5000 meters on times of 18:08.37 and 18:36.85, respectively.
Junior
Carter Kensil recorded top-10 finishes in a pair of throwing events as he placed seventh in the shot put at 14.53 meters and 10th in the discus at 37.50 meters. First-year
Noah Tapler recorded a mark of 5.78 meters in the long jump.
The Bears return to action tomorrow, April 25th as they will conclude action at the Penn Relays with
Mitchell Davis taking on the pole vault at 11:30 a.m.
