Ursinus Athletics Hosts Fifth Annual URSPYS on Sunday

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus athletics department held the fifth annual URSPYS Award Show at Helfferich Hall on Sunday night.  The show continued to serve as the closing ceremony that honors the top student-athletes with the outstanding senior and rookie awards, while handing out special awards to the best and the brightest for the 2025-26 academic and athletic year.
 
 
 
Ursinus Women's Track & Field's Kaelin Ryan was named the Female Senior MVP behind and outstanding track & field career that saw her became a second team All-American at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in March and be named the Most Outstanding Women's Track performer at two Centennial Conference Track & Field Championships in her career. Ryan has won three individual golds at the Centennial Championships and currently holds three school records.  Anthony Cerulli of Men's Wrestling took home the Male Senior MVP after earning winning two Centennial Conference Wrestling Individual Championships, winning 104 career matches behind a school record 73 pins, and leading the Bears to three Centennial Conference Team Championships in his four years on the team.

Ursinus Gymnastics' Erin Roe was named the Most Outstanding Female Athlete for 2025-26. Roe earned a spot in the NCGA Championship Meet for the third straight year and earned All-American honors in three separate events: the All-Around, Vault, and Bars by finishing in the top eight in all three events for the second straight year. She also picked up a trio of WCGA Regular Season All-American nods in the same events. Roe also claimed the Bears first All-Around East Region title since 2015. Ursinus Men's Track & Field's Mitchell Davis was named the Most Outstanding Male Athlete for 2025-26 behind his continued dominance on a national level in the pole vault. Davis was the runner-up in the pole vault at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships and collecting First Team All-American honors in the process. He also reset his own Ursinus pole vault records in both seasons and currently holds the top outdoor pole vault mark in Division III with less than a month until the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Olive Sergeant Hamm Award – Sophia Curtis, Women's Lacrosse
 
Awarded to a senior woman who exemplifies the best in college life; athletically, socially, and scholastically.
 
 
Best Bear Award – Pierce Greenleaf, Assistant Director of Athletic Operations
 
Honors a staff member of Ursinus Athletics (Team Ursinus), who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, a willingness to provide exceptional service, and has gone above and beyond to support the Ursinus College Department of Athletics.
 
 
Unsung Hero Award – Colleen Blackman Women's Basketball
 
Recognizes an underclassmen student-athlete who exemplifies dedication, resilience, and selflessness. This individual may not always be in the spotlight, but their impact is undeniable-whether through their relentless work ethic, positive attitude, and/or leadership by example. Their contributions to the team dynamic ultimately helps the group achieve success in ways that aren't measured by stats.
 
 
Team Community Service Award – Ursinus Women's Soccer
 
Honors the varsity sports program that achieves the most significant contributions and notable community service to the college and local communities throughout the academic year.
 
 
Play of the Year Award – Devin Buggy  – Twizzler goal against Washington College
 
Awarded to the Ursinus student-athlete who made the most exciting individual play during an athletic competition this year.
 
 
Most Outstanding Athletic Performance Award – Cloe Charlesworth defending her Regional title at 145 lbs. and qualifying for the first NCAA Women's Wrestling Championship.
 
Honors the student-athlete who had the best overall individual athletic performance in a single varsity competition this year.
 
 
Director of Athletics Award – Reena Robinson Women's Volleyball and Nick Nocito Men's Basketball
 
Honors a student-athlete who exemplifies perseverance, loyalty, and spirit to their team and Ursinus College and is a positive influence on their teammates.
