LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus Men's Track & Field sophomore
Mitchell Davis was named the Centennial Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the Conference on Tuesday morning.
Davis set the current Division III benchmark in the pole vault at the Ursinus Springfest, clearing a career-best 5.25 meters, and is now just 0.10 meters shy of the Centennial Conference outdoor record. In his first action since his valiant runner-up finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships, Davis blitzed the field and topped his personal best mark of 5.22 meters set at the Indoor Championship Meet.
Davis now turns his attention to the outdoor season where he seeks to top his Second Team All-American honors set at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship meet. He remains unbeaten at the Centennial Conference Championship meets in both seasons
This is the fifth time in his career that Davis has earned a weekly accolade from the Centennial Conference and first time he has earned one during the outdoor season. Davis earned his most recent weekly accolade after the opening week of this indoor season.
The Bears return to action on Friday, April 10th as they will open competition in the two-day Lynchburg Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic.
