GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team opened competition at the 2026 Centennial Conference Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon at Gettysburg.
The Bears finished the first day in second place with 22 points while Johns Hopkins leads the way with 29.5. Ursinus picked up a pair of silver medals on Friday with sophomore
Noah Sanders taking second in the hammer throw and senior
Sean Bowers in second for the pole vault.
Sanders medaled in the hammer throw for the second straight season as recorded a mark of 54.74 meters to claim silver. Junior
Carter Kensil placed fourth on a throw of 47.40 meters while sophomore
Nick Boyle finished 12th at 36.49 meters and classmate
Dante Calcaterra was next on a personal best throw of 35.64 meters.
In the pole vault, senior
Sean Bowers claimed his first career silver medal after taking second at 4.10 meters. First-year
John Acosta finished seventh with a mark of 3.80 meters.
Two Bears began the decathlon events as junior
Devon Bock sits sixth at 2,399 points and classmate
Logan Downs is eighth with 801 points.
The Bears return to day two tomorrow, May 2nd with the first events going off at 10:00 a.m. at Gettysburg.
