PHILADELPHIA – A pair of Ursinus Track & Field recent graduates were selected to the PhillySIDA Track & Field All-Academic Teams announced by the organization on Friday morning.
Aiden Tobin garnered a spot on the men's team while
Kaelin Ryan landed on the women's team.
The Academic All-Area Team, voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metro area, requires a student-athlete to be in their second year at the school and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or better. This is the second time in his career that Tobin earned a spot on the Men's team while Ryan garnered her first PhillySIDA nod.
Tobin, a biochemistry and molecular biology graduate, wrapped up a decorated Ursinus career with a strong outdoor season that saw him reset his own school record in the 200 meters on a time of 21.26 at the Widener Last Chance Meet. Tobin won the 200 meters at the AARTFC Championships in a thriller and earned USTFCCCA All-Metro Region for the event along with his 4x100 relay team. Tobin won a pair of silver medals, including one in the 200, at the Centennial Championships. He also added his third straight CSC Academic All-District nod earlier this week.
A biology graduate, Ryan completed one of the best sprinting seasons in the history of Ursinus Women's Track & Field by claiming Second Team All-American honors in both NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships and four All-Metro Region nods. Ryan repeated her Centennial Conference Most Outstanding Women's Track Performer behind her four medals of two golds and two silvers at the Outdoor Championships to sweep the Most Outstanding Performers at the Centennial Track & Field Championships. She also became a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection earlier this week.
