CARLISLE, Pa. – Fifth-ranked Dickinson darted out to a 9-1
lead as the Red Devils defeated Ursinus 13-8 on Friday night in
men's lacrosse play.
The Red Devils (13-1, 6-1 Centennial) forced 26 Ursinus (8-4,
3-4 Centennial) turnovers in the win.
For Ursinus, senior midfielder Eric Farris
(Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) had three goals, as did sophomore
midfielder Jeff Ocampo
(Palm Coast, Fla./Mantanzas).
Sophomore attack David Kraus
(Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) added in two goals for the Bears, who
did out score the Red Devils 6-3 in the second half and mounted a
small comeback but could not get any closer than five goals.
In goal, sophomore goalkeeper Matt Columbini (Cortlandt Manor,
N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) made four saves in the first 18 minutes,
while freshman goalkeeper T.J. Magnani
(Bear, Del./St. Mark's) had ten saves in the final 42 minutes.
Ursinus will host Muhlenberg next Saturday. The Bears can still
qualify for the Centennial Conference playoffs, but, need to win
next Saturday and need help.
