Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Trailing by four after the first period, Ursinus erupted for seven goals in the second period in an 11-9 win over Swarthmore in the conference opener for Ursinus.
The Bears (5-1, 1-0 Centennial) trailed 7-3 with 13:08 left the first half and proceeded to score eight straight goals to take a 11-7 lead with 10:30 left in the game.
For Ursinus, Jeff Ocampo had four goals, with Brian Weil adding in two. Ocampo also added in two assists in the win. Ursinus won the game, despite being outshot by the Garnet (1-5, 0-1 Centennial) 46-30.
Shawn Caven and Josh Baker each had five groundballs, with Caven going 11-for-16 on faceoffs.
Baker had 14 saves in the win for Ursinus.
