ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Senior
Jordan Pick paced the Ursinus College men's golf team recording a first-place finish at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Monday afternoon.
Pick fired a four over 74 in route to his lowest round since shooting a 73 and winning the Ursinus Fall Invitational in October 2021. His day was highlighted by three birdies throughout the first nine holes, finishing with a 35 through the front nine. After opening with a birdie on the par-3 3
rd hole, he recorded back-to-back birdies on the par-4 8
th and 9
th holes. Pick closed out his round with five consecutive pars to win the individual title by one stroke.
The Bears had five members compete at the Lehigh Country Club, a par-70 course that stretches over 6,415 yards. Albright won the team title shooting a 33-over 313, Thomas Jefferson took second with a final tally of 314, and Dickinson placed third with a team total of 316. Moravian (323) finished in fourth-place, Muhlenberg (335) took fifth, Cabrini (337) in sixth place, DeSales (338) in seventh, Ursinus (343), and Delaware Valley (343) rounded out the nine-team field tied for 8
th.
Senior
Evan Coffey tied for 30
th overall finishing his round with a 16-over 86. Coffey was consistent shooting a 43 on the front and back nine including signing for six pars on the afternoon.
Sophomore
Billy Breslin placed tied for 39
th overall behind a final tally of 91. Breslin opened with a 48 on the front nine before shooting an eight over 43 throughout the final nine holes. He ended his round with four total pars including the par-3 12
th and par-4 17
th holes.
Senior
Nick Troha finished just behind tied for 42
nd overall with a final score of 92 (+22). First-year
Brandon Mongan made his collegiate debut finishing tied for 45
th, signing for a 23-over 93.
The Bears return to action on Thursday, October 12
th as they travel to Limerick, Pennsylvania to compete at the Turtle Creek Intercollegiate.
